Havana-guide Interview

By Interviewer at 08/14/07 12:33

Name of your website?

Havana-guide

Your name?

tony

Your Location (city, etc)

antwerpen

Please give us a short summary of your website?

An information Guide about Havana and the life in Havana,Cuba. Places to visit, best restaurants, hotels an bars.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Havana is such a compelling city , there is more in Havana than the average Travel Guide shows.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The website was launched in 2006 and is a work in progress .I plan to add gradually more good information

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was from the beginning clear to me ...it should be Havana Guide

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I offer all the classic topics , but the most important I could put in my own voice and view about Havana

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Moneytizise it by using adsence

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Give me another year and it will be succesful

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Make it less static , more personalised, up to date , more dynamic by using video and interviews on the street...so a visitor can feel the swing , the fun

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

If we got really big: the name of the game would be outsourcing

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I am no native English speaker, so alot of my texts are edited by a professional. I also underestimated the traffic generation , it looks easy...but all know it's a lot of work.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To make it a reference site for the "Havana life"

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

to use the SBI system (Site Built it) www.SBI.com , the inventor Dr Ken Evoy is a genius.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I underestimted it , it's not that easy, it's hard work.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

about 2 years, but due to big problems I had in my business I couldn't touch the site for more than one year, but it's a work in progress , I won't stop before it's a top site.

I would welcome all suggestions to make the site more relevant to my visItors

hi, let me know

What is your website address?

Havana-guide
