Please give us a short summary of your website?
Naady Travel is An African safari blog. Not only does it give readers booking information but we have gone a step further to provide the with useful information about Africa. The site is still in it's infancy so expect to see and experience much more from naady. We want you to feel Africa whether you're coming to Africa or not.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I love this beautiful continent of ours. Most of the pictures shown in western media is usually of famine and disease. I once had a reader tell me that my site had inspired them to want to come to Africa. If i can show people another side of this great continent that they are not aware of i would be happy.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched the website about a year ago. Then it was simply a blog on Africa and it's wildlife. But then i realised that my readers apart from loving to read about africa where also looking for Africa safari packages.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Wow i get that question a lot. Well naady which would be spelt like nadi in Luo which is the tribe i come from means hello or Hi.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
like i said we aint just trying to sell you tours and safaris the minute you login to our website. We are trying to sell you an experience. another thing is that since we have been in the tour industry for quite sometime we offer our clients package that we ourselves have experience. And we know our products well.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Well the future is always unpredictable but we intend to put on a different face of Africa Travel than the usual buy this package that most travelers to Africa experience. Currently we are working on a Youtube Channel which would see us give our readers more entertaining as well as informative stuff.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I've always believed that anything that is worth doing, is worth doing well. And that success requires a lot of hardwork and patience. i once heard someone say that patience is passion
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
There is just so much i intend on doing with this website but if i had substantial capital i would do so much as far as marketing and creating a loyal reader base is concerned.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Oh yes. I'm a firm believer in creating business structures.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Well at the moment i'm doing this on a part time basis but as the demand continues to grow i see myself quiting my job and concentrating on the business. I guess i love what i'm doing and that is why to me any challenges i come across are just challenges and not headaches.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challange so far has been marketing as well as writing content for naady while holding a regular job. Blogging takes work and when you consider that you have to market it too then its more work.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Wow i love web 2.0 social media and that is why i decided to go with naady as a blog rather than a static website. There is so much at your disposal as far as web 2.0 is concerned.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I intend to continue running it even as i delegate work to more skilled hands.
