The Hypnosis Company focuses on promoting comedy stage hypnosis shows across America, as well as self improvement seminars, hypnotic sales training, and general Hypnosis information, & forum to share knowledge.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The company started in 1994 and the internet has been the only truly effective medium for promotion and contact
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Actually this was the first, we have built sever since then for different people in similar fields however this is our main site.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
That is a question! For over a yr we bantered names around none of which fit and so on all of our work sheets it was called the hypnosis business.. Out of sheer frustration one day I changed business to company and Ta- Da the company had a name.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
In the world of business I personally have a considerable amount of years spent in the field of personal development. I was very fortunate to be trained by some of the best in the field of Hypnosis and Entertainment and the products we are now offering have been honed by not only that education but by yrs of experience. So I think we offer a true first class experience to the consumer.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Today I drive a business forward and raise a 13 yr old Son, I really don't know what else I would want to do. I am living my dream!
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Success is relative.. How do you calculate it? I will say that I work more now then I ever did in another company, yet am far more satisfied. As well I am able to drive forward the company and raise my son. That to me is success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would get my hands out of the development and marketing of my site and company and allow others who specialize in those areas to take that over.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Certainly however due to the nature of our business I do not see it ever growing at a rate we could not handle
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Too many to go into. Everything we ever budgeted for cost 3 times as much at the end of the day.. So now every budget is tripled and if we can't, we don't do it.
What has been your biggest challenge?
building a name brand.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
there has not been one. we promote through many different avenues.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
The consumption of time.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been up since 1999 and I do not expect it to ever go down.
How do you see the company evolving?
The company is slowly growing and we will continue to develop web services to meet the consumers needs as well as develop our services to meet consumer demand.
