When did you start your website and why?
I started in 2005 to help my families buisness. It use to only list vacation rentals that we owned. After awhile family and friends wanted to list their vacation rentals also. Now I have made it to what it is today because of that.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
My site is classified ads for people to rent out their vacation rental. It is a site like auto trader but instead it advertises vacation rentals and cabins.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
The most difficult part of creating and runnnig my website was promotion and advertisment. Its a lot harder then it looks to raise in the search engines. It involves a lot of time and patience.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
Answering peoples questions about my site and exchanging link with people who want to exchange them with me. It's easier to do since their coming to me and I know what to do. Rather then having to figure out how to do it myself.
What was your biggest mistake?
The biggest mistake I made was not backing up my information and loosing 100 customers and then not paying for hosting for 2 months because I hated that company since they lost my information. Its a mistake that I'll always remember and should never happen again.
Who maintains your website and why?
I maintain my website and the members that I have on it. Its a non profit website at this time so their are no ways to help promote it through money and for maintenance fee's.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
My buisness is my website. Fast Vacation Rentals is a new vacation rental website that I hope will soon pay for college and other things that will help me learn more in web design.
