A local shows you what makes Melbourne a cosmopolitan and friendly travel destination.~~ What inspired you to launch your own website? I've lived in Melbourne all my life and love it. Wanted to share it with travellers. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? Launched the website in December 2008. How did you decide on a name for your website? I thought it aptly described what the site is about. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? It's written by a local for travellers, like a virtual personal guide. Has a personal, friendly feel to it. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) I'd like to derive income from it. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? Just starting up - it's hard to say. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? Just spend more time on it. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? I hope so. What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? None so far. What has been your biggest challenge? Getting better at web design What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Can't answer that yet. How has running your website differed from your expectations? It hasn't. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
